It has been cold these days.
We have a lot of tourist spots in Kyoto.
Arashiyama, Higashiyama, Gion.. more.
However there is a better place to visit.
It is the Kitano area.
There are less tourists there so you don't have to hustle against people to go forward.
It is a relaxing area and there are fine shops and restaurants.
The area is located in the north of the Kyoto city, near Kinkaku-ji Temple and
it is full of history and cultures.
We have Kitano Tenmangu Shirine, one of the most famous shrines in Japan, the oldest Geisha district, Kamishichiken district where Maiko & Geiko walking around the twon and Senbon-shakado Temple which has the oldest wooden building and a lot of Buddhist statues.
The Kitano area was a religious and entertainment area in the 10th to 15th century and one of the flourish town in Kyoto at that time.
Shrine, temple and entertainment were deeply connected each other in this area.
We will take a tour in this area and it is a great tour to get deeper understandings of Kyoto.
