Hot springs in Kyoto

There is a lot of rokan(inn) with hot spring in Kyoto.
Have you thought about staying at a ryokan where you can feel the hospitality of Japan
while enjoying a hot spring and taste Japanese cuisine?

I would like to write a little about hot springs which may not be very familiar to foreign visitors.
The hot spring water is poured into a bath, which has various effects such as fatigue and relief of stiff shoulders.

Do you know about hot spring etiquette?
I will introduce how to take a hot spring bath following some rules.

Before you enter the hot spring, you need to wash.
Because the bath is not for washing your body, it is for relaxing purposes.
Moreover the water is always kept clean and in order to keep it that way,
it would be great to wash before entering.
After that pour water over your body and get used to the temperature before
entering the tub.
At that time, I recommend pouring the water while you are sitting down so as not to
disturb others.

When your body warms up, it is better to get out for short breaks.
Sorking for too long a time could make you dizzy.

So as not to make the bathing area wet,
please dry off a little before going to the changing room.

Why don’t you try Kyoto hospitality by eating Japanese cuisine
using seasonal ingredients after relaxing in a hot spring?
For the best experience, I would recommend spending at least one night at a hot spring ryokan.
