It was a hot and humid day for October.
I had a newspaper reporter from New York!!
We visited a few places for her news coverage.

She writes articles mainly about food from different areas all over the world for The Epoch Times which is a newspaper company based in New York.

We visited the Tofu shop called Toyoukeya Yamamoto near Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and met the president of the company.
We had a very good time with him and he told us a lot about Tofu making and why Tofu is healthy for your body.
He is a full of passion with making Tofu and we got impressed by his enthusiasm and directness.

We couldn’t miss a chance to eat his Tofu and Yuba dishes at the restaurant his wife runs called Toyouke Chaya. Mr. Yamamoto invited us the restaurant and the dishes were excellent.

After getting full up, we visited Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in Fushimi. The day was a festival day and a lot of people came to the shrine and enjoyed their time.
We passed through the world famous Torii Gates called Senbon Torii.
She had her nose in her camera.
I am looking forward to her articles with great photos.
It was the first day of a three-day holiday so it was very busy everywhere in the city and Nishiki Market was also no exception.
We spent only the limited time in the market however she worked hard to get something interesting for her newspaper articles.

We also had a good time to talk about Japanese Kaiseki and Shojin Ryori.

Here is our itinerary for the Kyoto news coverage

◆Toyoukeya Yamamoto Tofu Shop
◆Lunch at Toyouke Chaya near Kitano Tenmangu Shrine
