Banba Sen Kogyo, specialized in black dying, is located on the former residence of Nobukatsu who was the second son of a famous 16th century warlord, Oda Nobunaga. The shop has more than 100 year history and the fifth generation is in charge of the shop now. With clear instruction by artisan, you can make the special thing which will be the only one in the world.

At first, you can choose an item from about 40 kinds including T shirt, bags, coasters, book covers, and the like. After that, you can choose a crest and a color. The marks for crests are things like flowers, trees, insects, animals and so on. You can also choose from crests of famous warlord or floral emblems for your birthday.

The shop uses its famous well water called Yanagino mizu to dye its textiles. Water contains irons and minerals, which is good as drinking water, too. The prominent tea master in the 16th century, Sen no Rikyu, was known to use water here for tea ceremonies.
