◆ Konkai Komyoji Temple ◆
A 20 minute bike ride from Karasuma Oike was refreshing in a sunny spring day.
The sunlgiht is getting strong and it is getting warmer recently.
I took some time off from work in the afternoon and visited Konkai Komyoji Temple in Okazaki area which is known and loved by the nickname Kurodani-san.
Even though it was a week day afternoon, there were quite a few people visiting the temple.
Passing through the big Sanmon Gate and walking up stone staircase, you will find the main hall of the temple, called Miei-do.
I prayed at the main hall where Honen-Shonin, the founder of Jodo shu-sect is enshrined and I got a Goshuin stamp at the temple office which is located on the right hand side of the main hall.
They offer 5 different Goshuin stamps at this temple.
Here is the one I got
五劫思惟阿弥陀仏
Go kou Shi Yui A Mi da Butsu
The letters refer to the statue of Amidabutsu and the statue at this temple has unique afro-hair and you can't see it in any other places in Japan.
